Attorney Jonathon “JC” Elgin grew up in Shelby, Ohio in Northern Richland County. After attending the Ohio State University, he worked in local school systems in information technology before attending Ohio Northern University where he earned his Juris Doctor law degree.
In addition to admission to the Ohio Bar, Attorney Elgin is admitted to the practice of law in the State of Florida, the Northern & Southern Districts of Ohio Federal Court, Middle & Southern Districts of Florida Federal Court, and the United States Tax Court.
Attorney Elgin has worked in both private and government practice and formerly represented Richland County Adult Protective Services in APS proceedings. He has represented petitioners in guardianship matters and has represented fiduciaries in estates throughout North Central Ohio.
Attorney Elgin concentrates his practice on probate law, estate planning and administration, taxation, real estate, and interdisciplinary “elder law” issues. Attorney Elgin is a member of the Richland County Board of Elections, serves on the Board of Directors of the Shelby YMCA Community Center, and serves as a Democratic Central Committeeman for Shelby 4B. Attorney Elgin has formerly served on the Board of Trustees of the Marvin Memorial Library and as a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of Shelby.
